HOW AND WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Embark on a journey to new horizons with North Hertfordshire College’s Travel & Tourism pathway. This is your chance to learn about the multitude of elements that make up both the UK’s tourism sector and the global travel industry as you explore different career options and build your skills.

Key topics covered on this pathway include:

  • Event planning and management
  • Airports, airlines, and cabin crew
  • Tourism destinations, eco-tourism and UK visitor attractions
  • Travel agency and tour operations
  • Understanding of core elements such as attractions and transport
  • Customer service

The Travel & Tourism pathway is designed to support your professional development and prepare you for a successful career through a well-rounded CV. You’ll have opportunities to complete work experience through internal college activities as well as placements with our network of employer partners.

As you progress through the pathway, you’ll even be offered chances to visit different employers and even tourist hotspots, depending on your course level. Previous students have visited destinations including Edinburgh, Malta, and Copenhagen.

Entry Requirements

For level 2 courses, a minimum of four GCSEs are required at grade 3 or above including maths and English; or a level 1 qualification with maths and English at grade 3 or above.

For level 3 courses, a minimum of four GCSEs are required at grade 4 or above including maths and English; or a level 2 qualification with maths and English at grade 4 or above.

Depending on the level of your course, you can go on to:
