HOW AND WHAT WILL I LEARN?

On NHC’s Business pathway you’ll develop the skills and knowledge to understand the fundamentals of business, while building your confidence of the sector. This pathway shares insights into business environments, like enterprise and start-ups, helping you start a business career or even launch your own business.

You’ll learn the fundamentals of operations before refining your knowledge on some of the more specialist subjects (depending on your level of study), including:

  • Business planning
  • Marketing
  • Finance and economics
  • Team building
  • Customer service

NHC’s Business pathway not only provides the opportunity to work with internal stakeholders like NHC’s in-house marketing team, but also encourages a different way of learning through experiential opportunities like running your own business that you have designed and working with external organisations and local employers. You’ll apply critical thinking, research, and digital skills throughout your learning journey. You’ll even use immersive technology like Virtual Reality to assess your customer service delivery skills, providing you with a step into industry from a safe space.

The course will introduce you to the fundamentals of personal and business finance, essential knowledge for entrepreneurs and individuals making confident financial decisions. You’ll also focus on digital skills for marketing by developing an advertising campaign, bringing a marketing brief to life, and collaborating using real business techniques.

Coursework units allow you to get creative with your research while developing formal report writing, pitching, and presentation skills with external investors. The coursework topics allow you to explore new skills for a professional career, including:

  • Exploring business
