IS THIS FOR ME?

The course is suitable for adults who are committed to enhancing their educational skills and career prospects.

This course is delivered over two days, with one day every 5-6 weeks delivered online via Microsoft Teams.

This one-year course will give you the skills and knowledge so you can apply for degree-level study in nursing, midwifery, and related professions.

Example progression routes include degrees in: adult nursing, child nursing, mental health nursing, midwifery, and operating department practitioner. It is perfect for people interested in getting back into study and enhancing their professional prospects. 

HOW AND WHAT WILL I LEARN?

You will study units in Health Studies, Biology, and Health Psychology.

Additionally, you  will study a Maths in a Healthcare Context unit and a range of other units designed to develop higher education skills and those wider skills required for your future professions

You will conduct practicals, have lectures, and engage in group work.

Entry Requirements

You must be at least 19 years old.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course but to ensure the course is right for you at this time you will be asked to attend an Access Fast Track event at the Stevenage campus. This will allow you to hear more about the course. We will also ask you to complete two 15-minute diagnostics in Maths and English to help us understand your skill level. Following this, you will have an informal interview. You will also be sent some tasks to complete in your own time and we will require a reference.

Though universities will accept the Access to HE Diploma, they may also want you to have achieved GCSEs/L2 Functional Skills in Maths and English.
