As a result of an assessment day with TAG Catering Equipment, two of North Hertfordshire College’s students have been offered apprentice and trainee roles with the company!
The assessment day featured an introduction to TAG Catering Equipment as a company. Our students also enjoyed a demonstration of their equipment and gained a better understanding of the work it takes to install and maintain the equipment.
With this new knowledge under their belts, it was time for our learners to take centre stage. The students were tasked with working in teams to complete an egg drop challenge that put their communication, theoretical understanding of materials, and their practical construction skills to the test. Our students enjoyed the opportunity to be hands-on and show their skills with real results.
The assessment day also featured interviews with each student, plus an extra Q&A session with one of TAG Catering Equipment’s engineers in the style of a reverse interview. As a result, our students were able to get answers to any questions they had about what it’s like to be an engineer with the company and help them decide if the company is a good match for them.
We’re pleased to share that Jagrag and Max were successful in the assessment day and have been offered roles with the company as a result.
Sam Sharpe, Head of Construction and Motor Vehicle at North Hertfordshire College, told us: “I’m proud of the way all the students engaged with the TAG team during the assessment day. The day was an enriching experience for our students and gave them valuable insight into the career paths after college. I’m delighted that Max and Jagrag have been offered jobs as a result of their performance in the assessment day, and wish them all the best for their future careers.”
Congratulations to Max and Jagrag!
