In March, our Hospitality and Catering learners wowed the judges at the International Salon Culinaire, bringing home a total of six medals!
The competition formed part of HRC, Hotel, Restaurant & Catering exposition at ExCeL London, an industry trade fair that sees renowned organisations come together to showcase products and new developments. This meant that our students weren’t just showing their skills to the judges, but to industry experts and figures who attended the show too – high stakes!
Cookery students, Ilana, Corey, Ajay, and Livio impressed in the Skills Theatre challenges. Our level one learners were asked to complete level two-standard tasks such as knife skills, chicken cut and sauté, plaice filleting, and trout preparation.
Our Hospitality students wowed the judges in their table laying and cocktail making challenge. Erin, Teona, Chloe, and Emily made two cocktails of their choice, and provided judges with a detailed recipe for each.
We’re super proud of the NHC team, and it seems the judges were impressed too…
Hospitality learners, Chloe and Erin’s table laying and cocktail making skills blew the judges away. Chloe secured a gold medal, and Erin took the silver!
A huge well done to Ilana, Livio, and Emily, for their work in the Skills Theatre. The Cookery learners brought home two silver medals, and two bronze medals. Congratulations, Chefs!
