You might’ve heard the news that we’re opening a brand-new campus for our Construction and Motor Vehicle learners soon. Based in Stevenage, the new Town Centre Campus will provide a dedicated space for students, apprentices, and adult learners to develop their skills and learn their trades.
Contractors for our new site, RG Carter, are keen to involve our current Construction & Trades students in the whole development process. Matt Cullingworth, Assistant Project Manager at RG Carter, invited our Level 3 Plumbing learners on a site visit to explore the new development so far.
Our plumbers and their tutor, Jason, were taken on a tour of the whole site, getting a first look at where the new classrooms and workshops will be.
Throughout the site visit, Matt explained the key decisions made in all areas of the development. Our Plumbing learners looked at the drainage and pipework across the site, explored toilet installation options, and checked out the building’s previous sprinkler and water systems. The visit highlighted key aspects from their learning that they could see working in a real-life project.
Jason is now working with the students to help them apply Matt’s decision-making skills to their current assessment, which is based on drawings for another RG Carter project.
Thank you to Matt and the whole RG Carter team for helping our learners gain insight into their future industry. We are so excited to see more of our new Town Centre Campus!
