To round off the academic year and add finishing touches to the skills they’ve learnt so far, North Hertfordshire College’s Level 2 Beauty Therapy students have taken part in a Finishing School with Champneys!
During the session, Champneys representative Tasha gave a presentation on tips for applying for roles with Champneys. Our students also received tips on interview techniques and trade tests, a job interview element unique to roles in the Beauty Therapy sector, where applicants demonstrate their practical skills such as massage. Tasha’s tips and advice will be invaluable for our students when they’re applying for placements and jobs in the future, helping them feel confident and prepared for their next career step.
Our Level 2 students also heard from three of our Level 3 students, Erin Crawley, Tilly Morrow, and Sam Wheeler-Kingshott about their experiences with Champneys.
All three students joined NHC in September 2020 for a Level 2 course before working their way up to Level 3, during which time they completed placements at Champneys – who could be better guest speakers for our Level 2 students than those who have been in their shoes? Their advice, in addition to Tasha’s, helps prepare and inspire the Level 2 students for the academic year ahead… especially as we can share that, following the completion of their Level 3 courses, Erin, Tilly, and Sam will now be working full-time at Champneys and have even been offered the opportunity to work on cruise liners with Champneys!
Speaking about her experience of her placement and course, Erin said: “I found it really enjoyable and rewarding. I’ve taken part in CPD and have also learnt how to do Valasso Therapy through my placement. I’m really proud of my journey so far, and I’m looking forward to seeing where my career takes me!”
Congratulations to all of our students for ending the academic year on such a positive note!
