During the start of the academic new year, North Hertfordshire College students completed a week’s worth of work experience at Computacenter in Hatfield, a leading independent provider of IT infrastructure services.
Level 3 IT students, Tyler Jones, Daniel Finch, Sinichay Sumner, and Joe Newton had the opportunity to work in different departments within the organisation, with a strategically structured programme enabling them to gain the skills and knowledge to complete their work experience programme and get an insight into a corporate IT company.
Student, Tyler Jones said: “My placement was an eventful week in which I was able to experience what it’s like working in different departments and how they all work with one another. I really enjoyed learning about all the various fields since it helped me decide that I want to go into cyber-security.”
Computacenter Future Talent Advisor, Doris Brozio said:” I would have hired them all if I have the vacancies available. It was a great week with them.”
On Friday 24th January, Computercenter’s Olayinka Durodola did an employer visit to our Stevenage campus. Providing an inspirational talk to our level 3 IT and Computing students, on the importance of hard work and to believe in themselves as they can be what they want to be.
