On Thursday 7th December, our Supported Studies department kicked off the festive celebrations with the annual NET Winter Fayre at our Stevenage campus. In aid of The Sunshine Appeal, our charity of the year, the event was a huge success and smashed college records!
The morning was full of festive fun with students manning the stalls and spreading Christmas cheer. Stalls included homemade gifts, tasty treats (including their famous sausage rolls), a Bric-a-Brac stall as well as incredible, festive artwork, hand-made by our very own Multi-Skills learners using horseshoes.
The extensive range of raffle prizes was the talk of the event, with everyone hotly anticipating their numbers being called. Prizes were kindly donated by Tesco, M&S, Jordans Mill, Christ Taunt as well as parents/carers and staff.
The fayre was in aid of our charity of the year, The Sunshine Appeal project at Lister Hospital. The project is currently raising money to install an outside terrace for intensive care patients at Lister Hospital so their beds can be moved outside, allowing them to see the sky. The Sunshine Appeal is also hoping to provide a restaurant deck and garden area for staff and patients to enjoy a break in the open air.
The NET Fayre 2024 was a resounding success and broke the record for funds raised at previous fayres. Our learners managed to raise an incredible £1600 for The Sunshine Appeal.

“I love the Winter Fayre it is a great atmosphere and lots of nice things to buy. The students have worked really hard to create this event, it’s fantastic to see it all come together and raise so much!”

The fayre had a truly incredible atmosphere, and each student managed their stall with professionalism and kindness. The amount raised reflects the hard work our learners put in to make the event a success.”
