Meet Claire Menzel, one of our recent graduates from our Access to HE Nursing & Midwifery pathway. Now that Claire’s finished her course at NHC, she’s taking the next step in her education journey and starting a degree in Adult Nursing at King’s College London, which was recently ranked the second best university in the world for nursing – pretty good, right?
How would you describe your experience of your Access to HE course?
“The Access to HE Nursing and Midwifery course was challenging, but the structure helps to build resilience, time-management skills, teamwork, and communication skills. It also helps you develop academic skills such as research and referencing, helping prepare you for higher education.
“I had great teachers who made the course fun, and their support helped keep us on the right track. My classmates were also really supportive, and they have become life-long friends.”
What would you say to someone who is thinking of studying Access to HE at NHC?
“If you’re on the fence, just go for it! It will be very challenging, but the teachers are incredibly supportive. Stay committed and keep believing in yourself when times get tough.
