On Monday 10th May it was announced that North Hertfordshire College, Beauty Therapy student Erin Crawley, had been named ‘Dermalogica Student of the Year’.
Dermalogica runs its’ annual ‘Student of the Year’ competition nationwide, where colleges can nominate their students. The competition celebrates and recognises students’ hard work and performance towards beauty therapy.
Erin Crawley, who studies Level 2 Technical Certificate in Beauty Therapy at NHC was named the prestigious title and, rewarded with a digital certificate, a skin kit and given access to a year of aspirational education to achieve Dermalogica Expert status.
Tracey Izzard, Beauty Therapy Lecturer said: “Erin’s journey on the course is incredible. She has produced an exceptional standard of paperwork for her practical exams and achieved the highest marks in all her theory tests. Throughout remote learning, Erin worked hard completing all tasks before deadlines and ensuring her work was thorough and detailed.
To see her grow as a person, a therapist and in her confidence has been amazing to watch. I am extremely proud of Erin and her achievements on the course.”
Talking about her win, Erin Crawley said: “Thank you so much. I am so happy to have overcome the challenges of dyslexia and dyscalculia and for my work to be recognised. I have already used the products on my mum to practice facials and she loved them too!”
Lauren Bartley, Support Coach said: “I don’t think I can express how much this meant to Erin! It has been wonderful to watch her thrive at college and to see her confidence grow. We are so proud of how far she has come! A massive thank you to Tracey for all her support and guidance.”
