North Hertfordshire College’s Level 3 Film, TV & VFX learners worked with Inclusivity Films to help produce the micro-short horror film, ‘Heartbreak’.
Inclusivity Films is a local production company run by Sarah Leigh, who has been keen to work with our learners since attending the launch of Purwell Studios back in February last year.
Prior to the film-shoot, Sarah interviewed each of our learners so she could place them in the roles most suited to their skills and career-goals. This means our students were able to shadow those doing the specific jobs they could go on to do in future, gaining key insight into the industry.
Once their roles were established, our learners headed to the on-location shoot at the Tranquil Turtle restaurant in Stevenage.
Sarah Leigh of Inclusivity Films commented: “From the moment I first met NHC students, I was incredibly impressed by their passion for film. So much so that I made space for everyone we interviewed!
“This continued on set – they all remained professional with a strong work ethic and were all enthusiastic to help out where they could. It was as if they had been working in the industry for some years already!
“I have now offered work experience to NHC students on three of my films. I will continue to reach out to NHC, as the students have been a tremendous asset to our productions and an important part of our team.”

A huge thank you to Sarah and the whole Inclusivity Films team for this incredible learning opportunity. We look forward to working with you again in future!
