Employers Join Computing T Levellers for Networking Event

Published on October 10, 2025

At North Hertfordshire College, we’re committed to helping our students gain the skills and experience needed to start their chosen careers. That’s why we’ve developed strong relationships with local employer organisations who help us shape curriculums to meet the needs of their industries, while also offering valuable work experience placements to NHC students.

Last week, we welcomed a host of employers to our Stevenage campus for a networking session with our Digital T Level learners. The event helped match them up with the most appropriate organisation for their work experience placements.

After a delicious lunch and a catch up with our staff, employers took their seats ready to meet their newest employees!

The event was structured in a speed-networking format, with students working in pairs to approach each employer and find out more about what their organisation does. Employers also had a chance to talk more about the placement opportunity on offer.

Both our students and employer partners could then make notes about each other before forming a list of who they felt they matched best with. Our Digital department will now compare the lists and work with the employers to onboard their new T Level placement students.

This was a great way for our learners to find out more about what each organisation does, whilst also being an opportunity for our employers to find the perfect student to match their company culture.

The event was a great success, with Alpesh Shah from Mobility2You commenting:

“It was a pleasure to be invited to attend the Employer Event at NHC for the T level students once again this year. We found the students to be very engaged, interested and positive about taking on the employment opportunity that the college has created for them through this collaboration.

“The event presentation and all the staff engagement for the employers was also extremely informative. The governance of the whole programme is reassuring for students and employers alike.”

On behalf of North Hertfordshire College and our Digital department, we’d like to thank all the employers who attended the networking event, including:

  • British Computing Society (BCS)
  • Mode9
  • Mobility2U
  • Willmott Dixon
  • Roche Pharmaceuticals

We can’t wait to see how our learners get on during their placements with you!
