North Hertfordshire College is proud to share that three of our Child Development Studies learners have already secured roles in the sector ahead of finishing their studies this summer!
Grace Dear, Natalie Randall and Amy French are in their second year of their National Diploma in Children’s Play, Learning & Development here at NHC. The learners have made the most of the many opportunities that have come their way during their programmes, from experience days to guest speaker sessions, practical sessions to placements. This positive attitude has paid off too, as their placements in local childcare and early years settings have turned into paid roles that they can start as soon as they’ve qualified.
Charlotte Rospo, Nursery Manager of Twizzle Tops Day Nursery, said: “Providing placement opportunities for students is so rewarding. It provides the students with that valuable experience they may otherwise struggle to get and watching their passion grow is so amazing! We have been so lucky here at Twizzle Tops Day Nursery, our placement students from North Hertfordshire College have been fantastic. They are part of the team, and we have even recruited them already to start with us when they qualify!”
Grace Dear, who will be joining Charlotte Rospo as part of the Twizzle Tops team following the completion of her course, said: “Going on placement has been really good for building my confidence and it’s allowed me to broaden my horizons and help me understand what I want to do in the future.”
Natalie Randall, who has accepted a job with Noah’s Ark Nursery alongside fellow NHC student Amy French, said: “My placement has really helped me to figure out what I want to do when I leave college. It’s given me the opportunity to experience different areas in the sector and it’s allowed me to gain the knowledge I need to begin working in the sector.”
