Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2025

Published on February 18, 2025

In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week 2025, we were joined by local employers from across Hertfordshire to host an Apprenticeship Information Evening.

Our Stevenage campus was buzzing with prospective apprentices ready to engage with local companies and explore the variety of apprenticeship programmes we offer.

Representatives from organisations like Garden House Hospice Care, Hertfordshire Constabulary, and Stevenage Borough Council manned informative stalls, and offered personalised advice to attendees, helping them select the most appropriate course to achieve their career goals.

The Apprenticeship Information Evening also featured presentations exploring the opportunities available in different sectors, such as corporate services, care and early years, and construction.

A huge thank you to all of the organisations who joined us to showcase apprenticeship opportunities:

ElectrAssure

Garden House Hospice Care

Hertfordshire Constabulary

HOP – Hertfordshire Futures

Jacobs

Keepmoat

NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex

Quantum Care

Stevenage Borough Council

Willmott Dixon

The Apprenticeship Information Evening also featured presentations exploring the opportunities available in different sectors, such as corporate services, care and early years, and construction.

A huge thank you to ElectrAssure, and Hertfordshire Opportunities Portal for delivering insightful presentations exploring the programmes on offer.

We were joined by current apprentices who spoke with guests about their experiences on the programmes so far, and were busy conducting demonstrations of the work candidates can expect to complete during their programmes, including using microscopes, and administering CPR.

Sam Rose from ElectrAssure commented:

“It was fantastic to be involved in the Apprenticeship Information Evening. We really enjoyed chatting to guests to help them find the perfect programme for their goals. I was so excited by how many people engaged with our stall, and I am confident I spoke with a few of our own future apprentices!”

Kuljit Kaur from Garden House Hospice Care added:

“The Apprenticeship Information Evening was a really insightful and informative way to help understand how the employees of the future are navigating their way through exams and job hunting. It was lovely to meet such a wide variety of individuals who are looking into what’s available to them for their future careers. Events like this are so important to highlight what opportunities are available but also to learn from these students and understand their expectations.

“At Garden House Hospice Care we are exploring ways to ensure we are at the forefront of providing opportunities and encouraging students to think about careers not only in care, but also the business side of our operations including HR, Finance, Marketing and Relationship Management!”

Our additional learning support and student services teams were also in attendance at the event to speak to candidates about the variety of assistance available to them throughout their programme.

The Apprenticeship Information Evening was a huge success, attendees explored a range of programmes in various sectors, received advice from current apprentices, and networked with local companies who may well end up being their future apprenticeship-employer!
