Following her success in her GCSEs, North Hertfordshire College student Jade Bacon has secured a new job in her dream career. Jade decided she wanted to retake her GCSEs to improve her results and achieve the grades she wanted.

Her choice to attend NHC for her GCSEs was motivated by her previous experiences with the College. Jade had previously studied other courses with the College and was pleased with the way her circumstances and requirements were handled. She said: “I thought there was no better place to take my GCSEs!”

Jade’s positive GCSE experience was shaped by the range of learning techniques offered in her classes. She is particularly positive about the way GCSE English is taught, which she described as “very varied and provided an exciting way to learn.”

Even the Coronavirus pandemic and the resultant lockdowns didn’t detract from Jade’s experience. “When Covid hit, I felt I got the same opportunities due to the effort that went into online learning. The creative way this new learning style was put together made a huge difference!”

With her new GCSE grades under her belt, Jade is already making progress in her career. “I have now received my desired results and with that have landed my dream job! I have taken with me everything I’ve learnt, and I am working my way up in a new company. I couldn’t be more excited!”

Speaking on Jade’s achievements in her GCSE’s, NHC English tutor Callum Freeman said: “It is sometimes difficult to return to education shortly after leaving school; this was not true for Jade. Determined to pass she excelled in all areas of the course, just showing that hard work and commitment can help you achieve what you want.”
