We’re very proud of our Supported Studies and The NET staff and students for their hard work in raising money for Breast Cancer Now. The teams worked together to run a series of fun activities, helping raise a total of £171!
The groups took part in Wear It Pink day, the annual Breast Cancer Now fundraising day. The charity has raised over £36 million over the last 20 years since starting the event, and we’re proud of the contribution our teams have made towards this total.
Donations were raised throughout the College through a variety of activities and events, organised by our Supported Studies Enterprise group and the NET, including a raffle, a bake sale, and a stall selling pink goodies.
Julie Tribe, Course Team Leader for Supported Studies, also took part in a 10k run with her son to help raise money. She said: “this is a cause very close to my heart as I was diagnosed with breast cancer (which was successfully treated). I want to give back to the charities which were there for me and continue to be. It is also lovely to work collaboratively with colleagues and students to raise awareness and have a great time fundraising for charities that do such great work.”
We’re delighted not only by the success of our teams in raising money for such a good cause, but also by their collaboration across the College.
Well done again on all their hard work!
