To celebrate the start of the new academic year, we hosted in-person welcome events at each of our three campuses. These events are amongst the first large-scale in-person events in over a year, following the Coronavirus lockdowns.
The welcome events provided an opportunity for students to mingle and get to know each other through fun activities, as well as learning more about the services available to them via the College and its partners.
Students could sign up to clubs, pitch their ideas for new activities, speak to representatives from partner organisations, and take part in a range of fun events from penalty shootouts to an Instagram photobooth.
Claire Cooper, Head of Student Experience, said: “After a challenging year, it was great to officially welcome students back on site. It was lovely to see students enjoying themselves, forming new friendships and joining in with the activities. It was the first time we have held this event on each site, and we are looking forward to making it bigger and better next year!”
Students enjoyed the variety of activities available at each site. Rhiannon Davies, Level 3 Health and Social Care student, said: “I’ve made great friends already. I can’t wait for the memories to be made!”
Having students back on campus has certainly added a buzz back to our buildings. We continue to follow the latest government guidelines regarding Coronavirus, and look forward to organising more events in the future.
