During May, Hart Learning Group (NHC & Hart L&D) took part in the #HLGWalkingChallenge. An activity to encourage staff to participate in daily exercise during the lockdown.
The challenge was to virtually walk 5,346 miles to San Francisco from Stevenage with sponsors donating to our Charity of the Year, Garden House Hospice Care. Over 40 members signed up and each week miles were accumulated, with updates on how far we had reached on social media.
By the end of the month, the staff managed to collectively walk 6,136 miles, which took us as far as Brazil! We raised a total of £1,299 for Garden House Hospice Care.
Community and Engagement Manager, Heather Almond said:
“We were delighted to have so many staff get involved, a little bit of healthy competition seemed to spur everyone on, and we are over the moon to have raised so much for Garden House Hospice. We’re so proud of everyone’s efforts and generosity, we are now thinking about the next fund-raising challenge!”
