The Hart Learning Group employment package includes:

North Hertfordshire College and the Hart Learning Group

North Hertfordshire College is based across three campuses in Stevenage and Hitchin, so there may be a requirement for you to travel between these sites. Travel requirements vary by role, so please check the job description for the role you are applying for.

Hart Learning & Development

Travel is a requirement of all our tutor roles in Hart Learning & Development, but we understand that length of travel has an impact on your working day. You will have flexibility to manage your workload to try and reduce travel between clients and over the course of a day and flex your hours across the week to reflect longer hours on one day compensated with shorter hours the next day. The geographical spread of your learners may be different depending on your location and the learner cohorts we have and, whilst we can’t guarantee a maximum travel time in all cases, we have a commitment to try and limit travel times wherever possible. We will discuss this with you specifically in relation to your role as we believe in being upfront in terms of expectations.

For many of us, remote working has become a routine part of our working lives, affording us opportunities to achieve greater work-life balance than ever before. Hart Learning Group is committed to the facilitation of remote working wherever possible to help employees meet the challenges of modern life, with a commitment to the physical and mental wellbeing of all staff.

We do also understand, however, that working remotely has its challenges to feeling part of the organisation, socialising with colleagues and being able to discuss ideas and challenges with your peers. As an organisation, we strive for continual improvement in this area and our remote workers are playing a key role in us understanding what we can do as an organisation to help overcome some of these challenges. A number of initiatives are therefore currently in development. Some of the things already on offer include:

  • Opportunity to join the College Developmental days (two per annum)
