Kit Davies – CEO, Hart Learning Group and Principal, North Hertfordshire College
Kit Davies was appointed CEO of Hart Learning Group in April 2018, having undertaken the role on an acting basis from December 2017. He joined the Group in August 2015 as Deputy Principal of NHC and was promoted to Principal in September 2017.
Kit began his FE career in 2001, having previously lived and worked in Spain, Mexico and Japan teaching and training English language teachers.
Kit is a fully qualified teacher, teacher-trainer and language specialist with a broad set of classroom practitioner and management skills gained from over 20 years’ experience in a range of educational settings. His academic background is in the field of linguistics, having completed a degree in Spanish at Portsmouth University and then a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics at King’s College London. He has one published book to his name, a secondary school book on Spanish language and culture called ‘Spain Live’.
Lizzie Jones – Executive Director of Corporate Services, Hart Learning Group
Lizzie joined the Group in 2019 as Executive Director of Corporate Services. Lizzie has 14 years experience in the Further Education sector, having worked in senior management roles at Barnet and Southgate College and Oaklands College. She has worked across a range of corporate services, leading strategic organisational projects and transformation initiatives. Lizzie started her career in HR within local authority and Further Education settings.
Drew Whibley – Chief Financial Officer, Hart Learning Group
Drew was appointed as Chief Financial Officer in 2026. After graduating from the University of Sheffield with a degree in Accounting and Financial Management, Drew qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and went on to work in senior financial positions across a range of publicly listed and private businesses.
Throughout his career, Drew has worked for organisations including Frontline Ltd, a US-listed shipping company and Aptitude Software Group plc, a Main Market-listed enterprise software provider. For the past five years, Drew served as Chief Financial Officer at i-nexus Global plc and most recently Altitude Group plc.
Keith Turner – Deputy Principal for Quality, Curriculum and Inclusion
Keith was appointed as Deputy Principal for Quality, Curriculum and Inclusion in March 2023. He is an established education leader with thirty years’ experience of GFE colleges. Keith’s career in education started in 1994 and he has held a range of senior leadership roles in further education colleges since 2006.
Keith holds a degree in Fine Art from Staffordshire University, a Master’s Degree from Dundee University, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from Manchester University. Keith has also gained two National Beacon awards from the Association of Colleges one of which was focused on the implementation of innovative Equality and Diversity practices within the curriculum.
Keith continues to work as a fine artist and has exhibited in a wide range of exhibitions and has work in a number of national and international collections.
Lorna McCallum – Executive Director, Apprenticeships and Partnerships
Lorna joined the group in July 2023. She has held leadership roles in HR, Operations and Commercial teams across Employability, Education and Skills provision since 2004. Lorna has worked for national Independent Training Providers with responsibility for programmes funded by DfE, DWP, and Local Authorities. More recently Lorna worked for a Higher Education Institution leading on industry engagement for Degree Apprenticeships. Lorna holds a degree in Psychology and Education, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management.
Richard Ward – Director of Governance
Appointed Director of Governance in 2026, Richard started his career working in the House of Commons, including four years running the Education Select Committee. In recent years, Richard has worked in educational settings in London and Surrey.
Outside of work, Richard spends time volunteering with a local Duke of Edinburgh group, helping to train young people in expedition skills.
