If you want to feel more confident about looking after your car, this course is for you.

Designed for women with little or no experience, this course helps you understand basic vehicle maintenance, improve safety, and avoid unnecessary costs by learning simple, everyday checks and tasks.

This course is one of our Skill Boosters and fully-funded, meaning you may not need to pay any tuition fees. Most people are eligible for funding for this course. HOW AND WHAT WILL I LEARN?

This course introduces the essential skills needed to carry out basic vehicle maintenance and safety checks.

You’ll learn how to check and top up fluids such as screenwash, oil, and coolant, as well as how to assess tyre pressure and tread safely.

The course also covers simple but important checks, including lihts, warning indicators, and general vehicle condition. You’ll gain an understanding of how your vehicle works at a basic level, helping you spot potential issues early.

Practical, hands-on sessions ensure you can confidently carry out these checks yourself. You’ll also receive guidance on when to seek professional help and how to communicate effectively with mechanics.

By the end of the course, you’ll feel more independent, informed, and confident about maintaining your vehicle and ensuring it remains safe and roadworthy.
