Tailored Learning – Bricklaying for Beginners

This course is ideal for women interested in learning a hands-on trade or improving their DIY skills. Whether you’re curious about construction or want to build confidence in practical work, it offers a supportive introduction to bricklaying with no prior experience required.

This course is one of our Skill Boosters and fully-funded, meaning you may not need to pay any tuition fees. Most people are eligible for funding for this course. HOW AND WHAT WILL I LEARN?

This introductory bricklaying course provides a practical foundation in construction skills within a supportive learning environment.

You’ll learn how to mix mortar, lay bricks, and build small structures while developing accuracy and technique.

This course covers essential skills such as setting out, maintaining level and alignment, and understanding bonding patterns. You’ll also be introduced to the tools and materials used in bricklaying, along wiht safe working practices.

Hands-on sessions allow you to practice building and repairing simple structures, helping you gain confidence and improve your precision. You’ll also develop an understanding of how brickwork fits into wider construction projects.

By the end of the course, you’ll have created your own small brickwork project and gained the confidence to continue developing your skills, whether for personal projects or as a pathway into further training.
