This course is suitable for anyone with existing experience in gym instructing and already holds a level 2 qualification. The course will see you improve your understanding of anatomy and physiology, and working with clients helping you progress your career.
The AIQ Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training is designed to grow your knowledge and skills of the health, fitness, and leisure industry by developing your understanding of general client care into the realm of running your own personal training business.On this course, you will demonstrate a more applied learning of anatomy and physiology. What’s more, you will be introduced to the foundations of nutrition, allowing you to provide sensible recommended nutritional guidelines to your own clients. You will be working closely with a client of your own, taking them through the journey of establishing their health and fitness status, designing long-term training programmes tailored to their wants, needs, and capabilities, and how to set up and manage your own self-employed personal training business.The course is a blended approach, meaning you will be expected to complete in-person work in addition to independent study tasks at home.Achieving you AIQ Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training means you will be able to run your own personal training business with your own liability insurance. You may wish to run your business out of an already-established company, deliver sessions outdoors, progress to an AIQ Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral course, or set up your own training studio!
The course will start Tuesday 3rd February 2026 and will be running every Tuesday from 18:00-21:00 over 17 weeks.

Entry Requirements
Learners must aged 19 or above and hold a suitable level 2 qualification in gym instructing.The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary.There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) and maths involved, so learners should have basic skills in communication and maths pitched at level 2/GCSE (as a minimum).Students currently studying on a vocational programme (16-19) at NHC will be able to complete this programme by invitation only.
