CSK – LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN COUNSELLING

There are seven learning outcomes that will be taught in a variety of ways including lectures, small group activities, whole group discussions, individual reflective writing, videos, exploration via the creative arts and small group skills practice.

Topics include:

• Understanding and application of ethical and safe practice
• Creating and maintaining boundaries in the helping relationship
• Developing empathy and understanding & working with difference
• Focusing on your client issues and concerns using active listening to stay within their frame of reference
• Using core counselling skills, and ability to identify your blocks to listening
• Reflecting on your learning
• Gain a deeper understanding of your patterns of relating, personal history and structure of self
• Providing constructive feedback to peers and to utilise feedback given to you.
