North Hertfordshire College is proud to announce that we’re Highly Commended in the ‘Drawn Together’ award for our 2025 Big Draw Festival! We are passionate about bringing the local community to our campus whilst engaging families in fun creative activities.
2025 marked the third year of the Big Draw Festival at North Hertfordshire College. Over 380 visitors joined the event, creating over 200 gingerbread designs, masks, chalk drawings, Virtual Reality art, flags, and a giant collaborative cardboard town.
Alongside our own students and staff, local artists and organisations supported the award-winning free half-term event. The Library Service and the Museum Service delivered ‘coding’ and ‘exploring’ sessions to attendees and’ What If Craftivists’ used art to help guests understand their role in the environment.
In recognition of our work hosting the 2025 event, North Hertfordshire College was named Highly Commended for the Drawn Together Award at the Big Draw Festival Awards. With entrants from Inverness to St Louis, the awards celebrate outstanding contributions to the internationally celebrated festival.
Melissa Caneppele, Schools and Community Engagement Executive at North Hertfordshire College, said: “We are thrilled to have been Highly Commended for the Drawn Together Award at the Big Draw Festival Awards this year. Everyone at NHC really enjoys supporting this community-focused event, so it’s genuinely such a delight to have been recognised for our work.
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to every single staff member, student, artist, and community organisation who has supported any of our previous Big Draw Festivals at North Hertfordshire College. We can’t wait for the next event!”
We’re thrilled to be opening our doors once again in October 2026 for The Big Draw, marking our fourth consecutive year of hosting this fantastic community event.
At North Hertfordshire College we’re passionate about connecting with our local community and we’d love for you to join us at our next event. Find out more details about our next The Big Draw – see you there!
