  • Deep understanding of apprenticeship programmes (both regional and national delivery models), ESFA requirements and accountability, The Apprenticeship Service audit and Ofsted.
  • Experience of MIS systems, e-portfolios and achievement rate methodology and analysis
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communications, interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Ability to develop a supportive and achievement led working environment
  • Significant successful recent experience of leadership of Apprenticeship provision on a national scale
  • The ability to work, without fear or favour, with senior leaders and stakeholders to define and deliver complex projects.
  • Experience of budget management based on income targets and expenditure
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and evaluate management information, test assumptions and make judgements
  • Ability to promote our outstanding reputation and carry out our business appropriately and professionally at all
  • Experience of operating in the management sector is desirable but not essential.






Across the full range of Apprenticeship provision, you will:

  • Lead, manage, develop and promote Apprenticeship provision effectively in line with the Group’s strategic plans.
  • Lead all aspects of Apprenticeship operations and performance, ensuring highly efficient and effective processes that support business performance.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving our operations throughout the whole learning journey, from recruitment through to end point assessment, leading on delivering a great learner and employer experience.
  • Lead on the funding and performance management for apprenticeships, ensuring the college is able to deliver substantial assurance outcomes in internal and external audits and in compliance with funding rules.
  • Continue to foster and develop our excellent employer relationships with key large national levy paying clients, with responsibility for our team of Account Managers.
  • Lead and manage significant external / key stakeholder relationships such as EPAOs, Provider Network groups and alike.
  • Lead a team of programme managers and tutors who deliver our apprenticeship programmes both regionally and nationally, with a particular focus on the management and professional solutions portfolio.
  • Work alongside the Head of Apprenticeships (Teaching, Learning & Assessment) to continually develop and deliver a creative, client responsive and outstanding Apprenticeship portfolio. Be accountable for ensuring the commercial viability of the apprenticeship provision, managing budgets to ensure key performance targets such as revenue, cost and contribution are achieved.
  • Be accountable for the quality of Apprenticeship administration, using data and reports to continually drive-up overall achievement rates and revenue generation opportunities.
  • Work with Hart L&D’s Business Development Manager to monitor and report on the sales pipeline and client relationship position, helping to inform sales strategy.
  • Lead an adult courses portfolio in AAT and CIPD that are closely aligned to the Apprenticeship standards.
