RAG WEEK 2020

Published on February 26, 2020

On Monday 10th February – Friday 14th February, North Hertfordshire College took part in their annual event, Raising and Giving (RAG) week.

Staff and students participated in a range of different events arranged by college staff and students, with donations going towards local charity Garden House Hospice Care, our Charity of the Year.

Each department within the college organised interactive activities around campuses for students and staff, with games like ‘Sponge the Teacher’, ‘Street Food Challenge’, ‘Charity Car Wash’ and much more. The college raised a grand total of £941.50.

Students Services Coordinator, Jan Green said: “Students and staff had fun raising funds for the college’s Charity of the Year, Garden House Hospice Care. The overall total for the week is £700 and still rising. Also, very proud of the Health & Social Care students for raising almost £200 with the lucky dip and bake sale.”

A big thank you to all departments for participating in RAG week:

GHHC, Community and Events Coordinator, Harry Folgate said: “On behalf of everyone at Garden House Hospice Care, I’d like to thank the students at North Herts College for helping to raise money for our charity through various activities including the sales of their reusable bottles and cups that they designed with BambuuBrush. Nowadays, it is so important to be aware of our environment and to do something to protect it for the future.”

“The students have not only helped reduce the use of plastic in our local area, but they have also been able to provide our charity with vital funds that will make a difference to the lives of the people we care for. Thank you for your support.”
