North Hertfordshire College was delighted to welcome some of our employer friends to our Hitchin campus for an Employer Appreciation Event in January!
Our guests were treated to a meal at The Meadows with a menu designed, prepared, and served by our Hospitality & Catering students, before taking part in their choice of relaxation treatment at The Retreat. Our Beauty Therapy students completed back massages, manicures, and pedicures for our guests, among whom included spa managers and trainers.
We’re pleased to share that we received fantastic feedback from our guests about the professionalism of our students and the high-quality treatments they received.
Cheryl Sutton, the Assistant Spa Manager of Y Spa at Wyboston Lakes, told us: “I was blown away by all the students I came across and their confidence to look after us all – especially Izzy, who did my pedicure, as she was extremely professional and executed an outstanding treatment. Izzy has a very bright future ahead of her, and her level of customer care and attention to detail will bode well for her in this fabulous industry.”
We’re also delighted to share that as a result of our Beauty Therapy students’ excellent service and interactions with our guests, our team have now secured dates to visit the spas, arranged work experience placements, and additional training for our students to help them truly sparkle in their future careers.

“The event allowed us to strengthen our existing connections with employers, introduce and build new relationships, and gain valuable feedback from industry experts. This provided essential insights into bridging the gap between college education and employment, helping us understand how to better prepare students for the workplace.”
