We appreciate the importance of providing a quality experience to our learners and as such, understand a high caseload impacts on quality. As such, we have a commitment to manage caseloads of no more than 42 learners per full-time tutor.
Travel is a requirement of all our tutor roles in Hart L&D, but we understand that length of travel has an impact on your working day. You will have flexibility to manage your workload to try and reduce travel between clients and over the course of a day and flex your hours across the week to reflect longer hours on one day compensated with shorter hours the next day. The geographical spread of your learners may be different depending on your location and the learner cohorts we have and, whilst we can’t guarantee a maximum travel time in all cases, we have a commitment to try and limit travel times wherever possible. We will discuss this with you specifically in relation to your role as we believe in being upfront in terms of expectations.
We are committed to flexible working as an employer and have a range of flexible working practices in place with our employees, both informal and formal. We offer part time hours, condensed working weeks, flexi-time, home-working and job sharing.
For many of us, remote working has become a routine part of our working lives, affording us opportunities to achieve greater work-life balance than ever before. Hart Learning Group is committed to the facilitation of remote working wherever possible to help employees meet the challenges of modern life, with a commitment to the physical and mental wellbeing of all staff.
We do also understand, however, that working remotely has its’ challenges to feeling part of the organisation, socialising with colleagues and being able to discuss ideas and challenges with your peers. As an organisation, we strive for continual improvement in this area and our remote workers are playing a key role in us understanding what we can do as an organisation to help overcome some of these challenges and a number of initiatives are currently in development. Some of the things already on offer include:
Regular 1-1’s with your line managers (remote)
Monthly team meetings (remote)
Opportunity to join the College Developmental days (two per annum)
Remote worker survey to better understand how we can meet your needs
