This course offers a practical hands-on approach to studying science, developing industry-ready skills as well as an understanding of the core principles.

HOW AND WHAT WILL I LEARN

Your course will be a mix of classroom-based, laboratory experience and workplace sessions with employers such as GSK. You will spend lots of time in the lab and gain high level laboratory skills. You’ll learn:

  • Biology, chemistry and physics skills
  • Principles and applications of science
  • Practical scientific procedures and techniques
  • Science investigation skills
  • Laboratory techniques and their application
  • Contemporary issues in science

You will also complete work experience with science industry employers to give you the full set of skills for employment or university. Our science courses include lots of opportunities for you to get hands-on experience of the world of work, including:

  • Work experience with businesses like GSK, AstraZeneca, Airbus, MBDA and Roche
  • Regular trips to science industry employers
  • Engagement with guest speakers from universities and businesses like the University of Hertfordshire, Stevenage BioScience Catalyst and NHS Trusts
