Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including maths and English or a level 2 qualification in a relevant subject area passed with merit or distinction with maths and English at grade 9-4 (or Functional Skills level 2 or above).
You will also need to produce a strong portfolio of work which you will need to discuss at your interview.
Future Study and Careers
You will be able to progress to higher level courses, which includes the UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design.
You can also apply to a degree course, an apprenticeship or paid employment.
Degree courses include Fashion Bags and Accessories, Fashion Photography, Fashion Design and Technology, Costume for Theatre and Screen, Fashion Marketing, Fashion Promotion, Creative Direction.
This two-year course is for you if you are creative and passionate about Fashion Design and want to gain the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to build your future in the fashion industry.

On this course you will study the UAL (University of Arts London) Level 3 Diploma in your first year. On successful completion of the Diploma you can then progress to UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in your second year.
This is a focused and practical course that enables you to access vibrant hands-on teaching sessions taught by tutors with industry experience, and to work on a range of experimental and industry-related project briefs.
You will develop and test your creativity as a Fashion Designer by developing a wide range of skills and techniques such as fashion illustration, pattern cutting, garment construction, textile design and printmaking.
You will learn about fashion trends, customer profiles and research. You will gain an understanding of visual language, contextual approaches and the design process, therefore enabling you to develop creative ideas and produce creative fashion outcomes for a portfolio of work.
This course will also enable you to develop and utilise transferable skills that will benefit you in other areas of your personal and professional life, such as initiative, problem-solving, reflective learning, environmental awareness, time-management and communication.
You will also take part in multiple competitions and live briefs including the Royal Opera House Design Challenge, a bespoke millinery competition and the National Army Museum live design brief.
As our courses are awarded by the University of Arts London you will have the opportunity to apply for their Insight Programme in London over the holiday periods.
This course consists of one unit which is assessed externally by UAL Awarding Body at the end of year 1 and unit 2 which is assessed and graded internally and externally moderated at the end of year 2. Students must successfully complete unit 1 in the first year in order to progress to year 2.
