Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including maths and English, trade specific experience or a trade relevant level 1 qualification with maths and English at grade 3 or above (or Functional Skills level 1 or above).
You will also be invited to attend an interview.
Future Study and Careers
Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations or a level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry.

This course is suitable for learners who have successfully completed the level 1 Carpentry course or have specific Carpentry experience.
You should have an interest in Carpentry and want to explore potential careers in the trade.
Your course will be a mix of classroom-based theory sessions and workshop sessions that explore practical skills.
Topics include carrying out first fix flooring and roofing, first fix frames, partitions and stairs, second fixing operations, carpentry maintenance and setting up and operating a circular saw.
You will hone relevant workplace skills such as building rapport with others and problem-solving.
You will also complete maths and English qualifications to grade 4 if you haven’t got them already as they are essential in this industry.
