Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. You will be invited to demonstrate your interest in the industry, attend an interview, obtain a professional reference and have a basic level of English/undertake a diagnostic English assessment.
Future Study and Careers
This course will prepare you for the level 3 in Women’s hairdressing and the level 2 Certificate in Barbering. With this qualification you can apply for jobs in the hairdressing industry.
This course is for you if you have an interest and / or passion for the hairdressing industry or want to explore a potential career change.
This full-time course is taught in a fun relaxed environment you will join a class of other adult learners.
Your course will be a mix of salon, classroom and workshop sessions that explore practical skills, working with clients, employers and the local community.
Course content includes health and safety and consultation processes, shampooing and conditioning the hair and scalp, cutting women’s hair, colouring, lightening, perming and neutralising the hair, the art of dressing hair and plaiting and twisting techniques, historical influences and customer service.
You will hone relevant workplace skills such as dealing with clients, wider communication and commercial skills and problem-solving.
Please note: There will be an additional cost for hairdressing uniform and kit at approx £300. The course tutor will be able to provide you with further advice and guidance about this.
