City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Women's Hairdressing
A level 1 qualification in Hairdressing. Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including maths and English or a level 1 qualification with maths and English at grade 3 or above (or Functional Skills level 1 or above).
You will also be invited to attend an interview and obtain a professional or positive school reference.

With this qualification you can apply for jobs in the hairdressing industry.
This is a progressional course for level 1 hairdressing and barbering.This is for you if you have an interest and / or passion for the hairdressing industry and want to explore potential careers.
Your course will be a mix of salon, classroom and workshop sessions that explore practical skills, working with employers and the local community and work experience.
Course content includes client consultation and health and safety, shampooing and conditioning the hair and scalp, cutting techniques, styling and dressing hair, historical influences and customer service.
You will hone relevant workplace skills such as building a rapport with others, dealing with clients, wider communication and commercial skills and problem-solving.
You will also complete maths and English qualifications to grade 4 if you haven’t got them already, as they are essential in this industry.
Please note: There will be an additional cost for hairdresser uniform and kit at approx £200. The course tutor will be able to provide you with further advice and guidance about this.
