Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Certificate in Health and Social Care
Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including maths and English or a level 1 qualification with maths and English at grade 3 or above (or Functional Skills level 1 or above).
You will also be invited to attend an interview.

This course is for you if you have an interest and / or passion for caring for people and want to explore potential careers.
You will look in detail at the different parts of the sector and work with a variety of charities and employers such as Mind in Herts, Kissing it Better, Healthwatch Hertfordshire, Herts Young Homeless, Stevenage Fire Station and Herts Partnership University Foundation Trust.
Your course will be a mix of classroom-based theory sessions, workshop sessions that explore practical skills, project working with employers and the local community and work experience.
Topics include creative and therapeutic activities, communication in the healthcare sector and human lifespan and development.
You will also complete maths and English qualifications to grade 4 if you haven’t got them already as they are essential in this industry.
