City & Guilds Level 1 NVQ Certificate in Hairdressing and Barbering
A minimum of three GCSEs at grade 2 or above, a successful interview, a positive school report and a keen interest in the industry.

Level 2 Certificate in Women’s Hairdressing and level 2 Barbering.
You can apply for an apprenticeship or paid employment in the sector.
This course is ideal for beginners and will give you a great introduction to the diverse hairdressing industry
Your course will be a mix of practical salon, classroom and workplace sessions with employers such as WELLA.
Areas of study include shampooing and conditioning, colour removal, neutralising, customer service, health and safety, customer service and styling and blow drying.
You will learn the skills you need for the workplace including communication, numeracy, organisation and relationship-building.
You will also complete maths and English qualifications if you haven’t got them already, as they are essential in this industry.
Please note: There will be an additional cost for hairdressing uniform and kit at approx £200. The course tutor will be able to provide you with further advice and guidance about this.
