Entry Requirements
No prior experience required, just a love of flowers and interest in floral design. Basic maths and English skills both spoken and written. You will need to set aside time outside of the class session to complete your write ups. Suitable clothing required e.g. apron.
Some background in arranging would be an advantage.

A beginners course ideal for those looking to develop a career in the flower industry.
On this introductory course to contemporary floral arrangements learners will produce large scale floral design over the course including pedestal designs. Gaining a recognised floral design qualification.
Learners will study basic theory and a range of contemporary flower designs and techniques emphasising colour, line and texture to enable you to create free standing contemporary, larger scale floral designs for events.

Assessment:
There are 2 formal practical assessments plus development designs made over the course but no formal exams
Observation, discussion, tutor feedback and practical work.
You will complete a folder of your work which is formally assessed and forms the qualification for the course. Write ups can be hand written or word processed. Work may need to be submitted electronically as jpgs, documents or pdf files but a full explanation will be given.
The course is IV and EQA verified according to C&G guidelines.
