This qualification is designed for anyone (managers, supervisors and workers) in any type of organisation. It’s ideal for anyone who needs a broad understanding of health and safety issues to be able to manage day-to-day risks effectively.

Many people take the National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NGC) as a first step in a career in health and safety. It gives a valuable overview and is a sound basis for further professional study

HOW AND WHAT WILL I LEARN

The qualification is divided into three units, each of which is assessed separately:

  • Management of Health and Safety (NGC1 – Two Hour Written Examination)
  • Controlling workplace hazards (NGC2 – Two Hour Written Examination)
  • Health and safety practical application (NGC3 – Two Hour Practical Examination)

It covers the main legal requirements for safety in the UK, a range of workplace hazards, and methods of control.

Monday 25 October – Learners will need to attend class twice a week, Timetable available upon enrolment.

Final Exam will take place on Wednesday 1 December
