As a care student at NHC, you’ll study in our simulation classrooms to build you confidence in working in these unique settings before you start your placement. Our mock ward is built to NHS standards for clearance and use of space, and our independent living flat will help you practice using accessible technologies like hoists.

Our teaching teams and employer connections will work with you to ensure placements are tailored to your dream career, giving you the experience and confidence for your next steps.
There are also frequent opportunities to pick up additional knowledge and experience by taking part in extracurricular activities. NHC students regularly volunteer for the Dementia Friends and Forget-Me-Not campaigns to support their local community through their treatments.
Our courses also feature built-in industry placements in each year of your studies. Previous students have taken part in placements with local care homes, hospitals, and have even assisted in surgery procedures – where will your NHC journey take you?

Entry Requirements
For level 1 courses, a minimum of five GCSEs are required at grade 2 or above, including maths and English; or an entry level qualification with maths and English at grade 2 or above.
For level 2 courses, a minimum of five GCSEs are required at grade 3 or above, including maths and English; or a level 1 qualification with maths and English at grade 3 or above.
For level 3 courses, a minimum of five GCSEs are required at grade 4 or above, including maths and English; or a level 2 qualification with maths and English at grade 4 or above.
For T Levels, a minimum of five GCSEs are required at grades 5 or above, including maths and English; or a level 2 qualfication with maths and English at grade 5 or above.
