Future Study and Careers
Level 1 Computing Diploma.
This course is ideal for those with very little or no knowledge of computing skills.
Your study programme will be a mix of classroom-based theory sessions, workshop sessions that explore practical skills, project working with employers and the local community and work experience.
You will learn the basics of key areas of computing including programming, cybersecurity and software usage.
You will learn how to use a 3D game development environment, using programming principles to build a gaming terrain. You will learn to how to populate this with characters and props and how to programme their behaviours and games rules in a bespoke visual gaming language.
You will learn skills in using software packages that are essential for most job roles, including word processing software, presentation software, spreadsheet software.
Cybersecurity is an area of computing that is essential to most businesses. This course will teach you the basic principles of keeping yourself safe whilst working online and look at how this relates to cybersecurity within major organisations.
You will complete GCSE or Functional Skills maths & English qualifications which are essential in this industry. You will also complete a minimum of 30 hours of work experience to enhance your employability skills.
