Entry Requirements
Competence with basic computing skills, file management is essential. It is also essential that learners are competent with basic skills in:
Successful completion of the Digital Skills for Work course or equivalent is recommended, as this course develops on the skills learned at that level.
A commitment to practicing in between lessons is also required.
Basic written and spoken English skills and maths skills required and manual dexterity with a mouse and keyboard.

The course will include four modules:
You will be using current versions of the Microsoft Office 365 programme. Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The content of this course is subject to change and depends on the student’s skills and interests.
Spreadsheet Software:
Learners will develop an understanding of spreadsheet software tools and techniques to be able to produce spreadsheets. They will learn to apply advanced formulae and functions to process data and use automated tools to aid productivity.
Presentation Software:
This unit will develop learners’ understanding of presentation software and how to create effective presentations for different purposes and audiences. They will also learn about inclusive design and how to apply techniques to ensure presentations are accessible.
Word Processing Software:
This unit will develop learners’ ability to maximise the tools available in word-processing software to prepare, process and produce a wide range of sophisticated and professional documents accurately and efficiently.
Cybersecurity:
Learners will investigate accidental and malicious security threats to IT systems and data. They will learn about system vulnerabilities and the tools and techniques used to protect users from risks and potential damage, including loss of data, loss of data integrity and unauthorised access to data.
Creating Business Webpages:
The aim of this unit is to help learners understand how to create websites and the factors to consider when doing so.
