This course is ideal for people who have bought, or are thinking of buying, a digital camera and would like to learn the basics.

HOW AND WHAT WILL I LEARN?

You will study the following topics:

  • Basic Fundaments of Photography.
  • Getting to know your camera.
  • Learning how to use Manual Mode
  • The Exposure Triangle
  • How to compose a shot
  • Introduction to key photographic genres
  • Developing an efficient Workflow – From the camera to computer

ABOUT THE TUTOR

Erica Hawkins is an award-winning wedding, family and portrait photographer based in Hertfordshire. After graduating in 2003 with a degree in Media production and Management from the University of Hertfordshire she went on to focus her career on commercial imagery, working for an art publishing company in London. Inspired by the immersive artwork the role required, Erica’s passion for photography grew and in 2011 she started her own photography business.  

Erica’s interest in photography is always evolving and she enjoys challenging herself to learn new techniques to enhance her own work. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others and inspiring everyone to enjoy photography.
