HOW AND WHAT WILL I LEARN?
The course will comprise of four modules; IT User Fundamentals, word processing, spreadsheet software and presentation software, using current versions of the Microsoft Office 365 programme. Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The content of this course is subject to change and depends on student skills and interests.
Improving Productivity Using IT
Plan, select and use appropriate IT systems and software for different purposes
Review and adapt the ongoing use of IT tools and systems to make sure that activities are successful
Develop and test solutions to improve the ongoing use of IT tools and systems
Microsoft Word
Using, recapping and expanding skills learned on the ITQ Level 1 course, including formatting, cut and paste, drag and drop
Editing and grouping graphics
Using headers & footers, inserting auto fields e.g. page numbers
Creating a custom template
Creating custom styles
Working with tables, editing rows and columns
Creating a master mail merge document and link to Excel spreadsheet to mail merge.
Microsoft PowerPoint
Using, recapping and expanding skills learned on the ITQ Level 1 course, including creating presentations, formatting, inserting and resizing images
Creating presentations, adding and editing slides
Editing the master slide and master styles
Inserting, editing and resizing graphics
Adding and editing transitions and animations.
Microsoft Excel
Using, recapping and expanding skills learned on the ITQ Level 1 course, including formatting, fill, basic formulas
Creating, using and editing formulas
Using Relative Reference, Absolute Reference and Mixed Reference
Using various functions such as; IF, VLOOKUP, SUMIF

Entry Requirements
Competence with basic computing skills, including file management, is essential. It is also essential that learners are competent with basic skills in:

Word processing
PowerPoint
Excel
Successful completion of the Digital Skills for Work course or equivalent is recommended, as this course develops on the skills learned at that level.
A commitment to practicing in between lessons is also required.
Basic written and spoken English skills and maths skills required and manual dexterity with a mouse and keyboard.
