At North Hertfordshire College, we place great importance on our engagement with universities, industry professionals and external organisations. Throughout their time at college, students benefit from a wide range of visits and guest speakers.
That’s why our Level 3 and T Level Health & Social Care students recently took part in an information session with Bella from the University of Hertfordshire! The session included information about degrees in general, how to apply to university, and what to look for when choosing your course.
Learners took part in an online quiz about university study before hearing from Bella about the different types of courses available at the University of Hertfordshire. To help them explore their options in-person and get a sense of university study, Bella advised our students to book an open event. She even shared tips on studying abroad, how to choose accommodation, and guidance on writing personal statements.
Experiences like this are designed to broaden students’ knowledge, raise awareness of future opportunities, and develop the skills and confidence needed for their next steps in education and employment.
Ellie, one of North Hertfordshire College’s T Level Health & Social Care students, told us: “The session was really helpful and I now feel ready to start thinking about university and planning my personal statement over the summer break.”
Thank you to Bella for taking the time to speak to our students!
