The Engineering & Construction Campus (ECC) is moving! 📦
At North Hertfordshire College, we want to make sure all our students develop the skills they need for success in their future careers. That’s why we’re investing in a new campus for our plumbing, carpentry, brickwork and motor vehicle students and apprentices in Stevenage.
The Town Centre Campus (TCC) will replace our current campus in Units 1 – 5 in Fulton Close. The new 3600 sq m space will provide a dedicated space for study programme students, our apprentices, and our adult learners to develop their skills and learn their trades. Featuring dedicated bays for trades, this purpose-built space will ensure students learn the skills the current and future construction sector needs.

What’s new at the Town Centre Campus? ✨
State-of-the-art facilities: The newly refurbished campus will feature modern workshops for Carpentry, Plumbing, Motor Vehicle, and Brickwork, alongside flexible classroom spaces designed to support learners and apprentices studying these subjects.
Central location: Situated in the heart of Stevenage town centre, the campus is just a five-minute walk from our main Stevenage Campus and benefits from excellent public transport links.
Enhanced learning experience: Students will enjoy newly refurbished facilities that are purpose-built to give them the skills they need to succeed.

The move will happen at the end of the 2025/26 academic year in readiness for learning to commence within the new campus from September 2026.
All students enrolling on a course for 25/26 will start their studies in the new facilities in September.
The campus is located in the town centre in the former Stevenage Indoor Market site and is easy to get to via public transport (bus and train) or by bike for those living more locally.
Paid parking is available at the site.
Alternatively, you can park at our main Stevenage campus on Monkswood Way and walk over (subject to available spaces). There are also Beryl Bikes available for hire across Stevenage including a bay at the Stevenage campus, in the town centre and at the train station.
The new campus offers modern teaching spaces, upgraded workshops, and specialist industry-standard equipment to enhance skills training.
There is also access to vending machines and social areas.
The Town Centre Campus is located close to numerous catering outlets within Stevenage town centre.

Your course is relocating to provide you with access to improved facilities, specialist equipment, and better opportunities for learning in your subject area.
Yes – Student Services will be located at the new campus, so you will continue to have access to all the same support, including wellbeing, careers, and learning support services.
No, you’ll still contact your tutors in the same way (email, Teams, etc.), and teaching staff are moving with you, where relevant.
If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to your tutor or Student Services. We’re here to help you through the transition.
Information and support for apprenticeship students and employers
No, apprenticeship parking at Unit 6 will be unavailable. Apprentices will need to find alternative parking arrangements when studying at Unit 6, or use public transport/cycle/walk.
No, the apprenticeship structure, curriculum, and assessment remain the same.
The location of your classes will vary depending on which apprenticeship standard you’re studying.
Carpentry and Motor Vehicle apprentices will have classes taught at both Unit 6 and the new Town Centre Campus, spending half a day at each campus. Apprentices will need to travel between campuses during their lunch break.
Apprentices studying on an Electrical standard will be taught at the main Stevenage Campus on Monkswood Way in newly refurbished electrical workshops.
Gas apprenticeship delivery will continue in Unit 6 at Fulton Close.
No, attendance patterns remain the same. Only the site where apprentices attend has changed.
No, you will continue to have the same points of contact for progress reviews, updates, and queries.
