North Hertfordshire College’s Digital students recently had an amazing day at London’s EGX conference! The event is the UK’s largest gaming event and is held at ExCeL London.
From the very beginning of their visit, our learners got stuck in with the gaming world. They tested out hands-on demos of upcoming releases, explored the latest development in innovative games experiences, and immersed themselves in the creativity of the sector.
There was also the opportunity for our learners to take part in insightful panels held by representatives from different games developers. The panels focused on a range of topics such as the process of game design and the future of virtual reality. Our students even joined a careers tips session from Samsung to help them explore careers in the gaming industry and how to make your CV stand out from the crowd.
Our students also enjoyed visiting the Arena, an interactive space which hosted eSports competitions and cosplay showcases. They loved cheering on the intense competitions and watching talented cosplayers bring fan-favourite characters to life with such incredible creativity and detail.
Ahmed Bin Mazhar, one of North Hertfordshire College’s Digital tutors, told us: “EGX was a fantastic opportunity for our students to hear directly from professionals, sparking inspiration for many of our budding developers, designers, and artists.
