If you’re interested in starting a career in computing, then NHC’s Digital pathway is a great place to start. Our pathway covers a broad range of job opportunities in the computing and networking sector, helping you build your skills and prepare for your future.

Key topics covered on this pathway include:

  • Customer service and communication
  • Coding skills, including ethical hacking
  • Programming
  • Management of computing projects including IT maintenance and support
  • Web design and games development
  • eSports essentials, including broadcasting, digital marketing, team management, game strategy, and event planning.
  • Production, design, and development of software solutions
  • Identifying software solutions
  • Investigating and understanding the legal and regulatory environment.
  • Using qualitative and quantitative information to develop solutions.

Modules on this pathway include:

As you work through your pathway, you’ll have opportunities to start refining your skills and specialising in a particular area. The projects and assignments you complete along the way will help demonstrate your skills to employers, universities, and apprenticeship providers so you can achieve your career goals.

On this pathway you will also gain an opportunity to develop your soft skills in areas such as working with others, communication, leadership, organisation, and research skills. You will also develop the connections needed to help you achieve your future career ambitions,

Our expert teaching teams are dedicated to improving their skills, and many have previous experience working in industry. As a result, you’ll learn the latest techniques and keep up-to-date with developments in the sector, helping you stand out from the crowd when it comes to applying for your next steps after college.

You’ll study in our purpose-built digital suites, which feature high-performance computers and equipment to help bring your learning to life. We’ve even added a gaming suite to our facilities, designed to support your understanding of eSports and create a truly immersive experience.

This pathway features built-in work experience, and our teams will help you find a local employer partner where you can practice your skills in a real work environment. Previous students have even gone on to secure a degree apprenticeship with their work placement employer – where will your NHC journey take you?

Entry Requirements

For entry level courses, you will be invited to meet the teaching team to ensure this course is right for you.

For level 1 courses, a minimum of five GCSEs are required at grade 2 or above, including maths and English; or an entry level qualification with maths and English at grade 2 or above.

For level 2 courses, a minimum of five GCSEs are required at grade 3 or above, including maths and English; or a level 1 qualification with maths and English at grade 3 or above.

For level 3 courses, a minimum of five GCSEs are required at grade 4 or above, including maths and English; or a level 2 qualification with maths and English at grade 4 or above.

For T Levels, a minimum of five GCSEs are required at grade 5 or above, including maths and English; or a level 2 qualification with maths and English at grade 5 or above.
