Your Assesment
This will not involve any tests.
You will be able to discuss your needs in confidence with an experienced assessor.
The assessor will take account of your course content and the way it is assessed, and will demonstrate equipment that will help you in your studies.
All our assessors hold professional qualifications in one or more of the following: Psychology, Education and Information Technology. Between them members of our team are familiar with most disabilities.
When you make an appointment we will make sure the person you see knows about the kinds of difficulties you are likely to encounter in studying at college or university.
After the assessment, the assessor will write a report and send it to your funding body. The report is likely to recommend equipment that you will need, as well as necessary personal help. Of course, the recommendations will be linked to your needs in relation to where and what you study, so these will vary from one student to another.
The report may also recommend certain allowances so that you can purchase essential items to ensure you are not disadvantaged when studying. The assessor may also make recommendations to your university or college about exams and coursework demands.
