Notes for Applicants By keeping administration costs to a minimum we can ensure that as much money as possible can be channelled into learner provision, therefore receipt of your application will not be acknowledged. However, if you wish to include a self addressed, stamped envelope we will be happy to confirm this.

There are guidelines for managers relating to all aspects of the recruitment process and managers involved in recruitment undertake NHC training in recruitment and selection skills. Shortlisting

Applicants will be shortlisted for interview on the basis of their education, training, employment and supplementary information provided on completed application forms, all sections of the form should be completed. Evidence of qualifications will be required at interview. The detail on of the application form will show the shortlisting panel that you meet the requirements detailed in the Job Description and Person Specification and that you are able, or have the potential, to carry out the duties described. It is therefore essential that you read these documents before completing your application form. The details you provide in the supporting statement section of the form contribute significantly to the process of shortlisting and we would encourage you to complete this as comprehensively as possible, with specific reference to the requirements of the job description and person specification. It is not our policy to notify applicants who have not been shortlisted. If you do not hear from us within three weeks from the closing date, or before the date of the interview if this is sooner, we regret that your application will have been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please do not let this deter you from applying for any suitable vacancies you may see advertised in the future.

Pre-Employment Checks

The College requires new employees to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau disclosure and will take up references and other College checks prior to the commencement of employment. Any offer made will be subject to a satisfactory CRB disclosure and references. All applicants will be required to sign their consent to their data being processed for recruitment and employment purposes, in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Candidates invited to interview will be requested to bring appropriate original identification and qualifications which will be checked. Appointments are offered subject to the candidate providing evidence of academic and/or professional qualification(s). Applicants who do not have a teaching qualification will be required to obtain this qualification if appointed to a lecturer or trainer role.

  • Prepare a draft copy first, reflect and re-write before completing the application form
  • Check your spelling and grammar, and proof read your application.
